While attending the San Diego Magazine Brunch Bash a few weeks ago, Herb & Wood announced that they would be starting their brunch menu on Sunday, April 1st (just in time for Easter)! They sampled a preview of Hamachi Toast with a sunny side up quail egg and roasted speck which was to die for! I knew right then and there that Herb & Wood’s newest menu was going to be a hit. I got home later that day and made a reservation right away.
Two weeks later and here I am walking into the most beautiful venue space. This 8,500 sq ft. warehouse that is partially indoors and outdoors makes you feel as if you are in an old air hangar with the rounded ceiling. However, this is not a casual, dress down warehouse. As I entered Herb & Wood for the first time on Easter Sunday, I was glad I came dressed to impress!
I immediately felt that Herb & Wood gives off a romantic feeling of sophistication and luxury. It is a restaurant full of class and elegance with an artistic flair with feminine portraits on the walls. There are a multitude of different types of chandeliers throughout the restaurant with crystal glasses at each table setting and a double-sided fireplace on their patio.
